The brief had three distinct phases spanning
approximately 6 weeks:
1. ‘Imagine’ Nature - Imagine time in nature
and generate writing and imagery in response.
Students wrote about their expectations of spending time in nature. They drew an image portraying what they imagined the ‘nature solo’ experience to be like.

2. ‘Experience’ Nature - Experience time in
nature and generate audio material and an image.
During the nature solo students recorded their thoughts using a dictaphone. After the nature solo students created an ‘experience’ image within forty-eight hours.

3. ‘Interpret’ Nature - Express an opinion, agenda or perspective on nature, humans &
wellbeing
Students created their final outcome in any media, context, and directed to any appropriate audience.
