What the Trees See
by Nicole Ramsden
The serenity of sitting alone in nature gave me focus and perspective. A new perspective I discovered was that of trees. I found myself watching a bird flit from tree to tree, almost as if having a discussion with the branches. Trees are a constant in our lives, we see them all the time without noticing. This piece takes inspiration from how trees might see us. The lyrics relate to how humanity’s relationship with trees and indeed, with nature, has shifted.
“A society grows great when old men plant trees under whose shade they know they shall never sit”
